Here’s a teaser of a Festive Mood Board for the room I am installing at The Ideal Home at Christmas show at Olympia, London, 25-29th November. The theme is a ‘Feast in a Forest’ and it features a Dodie dining table from Heal’s set for a Christmas time feast. Furniture and lighting has been provided by Graham and Green, crockery by Portmeirion and decorations, some with a geometric design have kindly been supplied by The Sunshine Garden Centre in Muswell Hill.
The super cool Concreate Flooring installed by Coraff will give a Scandi vibe to the room with cosy sheepskin rugs.
Mitas & Co have supplied the Pining Away wallpaper to enhance the forest feeling.
Thanks to my friends at CAMS Building and Development for their help with installation.
I have recently appeared on the Chrissy B TV show.

This is the Grand Designs Kitchen room set that was created for the recent Grand Designs Live Show at ExCel in London, it was showcased at the Grand Interiors area of the hugely popular live show of the TV programme Grand Designs fronted by Kevin McCloud.
The theme for the room set was ‘block colour’ and inspiration was taken from the artist Mondrian and the way he used blocks of primary colour in his paintings. There were highlights of gold in the taps, cabinet hardware and even a gold disco ball to encourage a bit of kitchen dancing. The colour palette was updated with contemporary colours from Little Greene Paint.
The kitchen was supplied by Sola, a fantastic company who get their cabinets manufactured in Sweden. Smeg supplied the bright fridge that complemented the scheme perfectly.
The flooring was supplied by Concreate and fitted by Coraff and the furniture was from Case and Content by Terence Conran. The under-lit stone section of floor was from Translucent Creations. The oversized pendant lampshades were from Needcraft.co.uk and covered in wallpapers from MiniModerns, Mitas & Co and Cole & Son.
Daniel Hopwood from the Great Interior Design Challenge came by to say hello!
Mondrian inspired Kitchen Dining room
At Amanda Neilson Interiors we like to offer unique pieces to finish off a room scheme. We handmade these over sized, monster lampshades for a client recently and they were well received. The duck egg blue geometric patterned one went into the bedroom linking with the wallpaper that was used on a feature wall behind the bed.
The paisley patterned one went in the lounge where it complemented the Farrow and Ball wall colour Skimming Stone. Both of the patterns were Cole and Son wallpapers which we love to use as the patterns are so current and come in a fabulous range of colours. Please get in contact if you think a lampshade like this would enhance your home.
